I had Lily as my stylist and she was wonderful. I got balayage, a fringe and styling. She did an absolutely wonderful... job with my hair and was very open and honest in what I would be able to achieve with my very dark hair. I would absolutely recommend Lily. The second I walked in the door I was greeted by name and met with exceptional service.The day prior I'd been... corresponding via e-mail to get a hair colour appointment and they kindly scheduled a time that worked for me.Emily & Jay were unbelievably friendly, considerate and talented - helping me determine the look I was going for.I then received a fantastic set of highlights from Emily and an absolutely killer haircut from Jay - both of whom paid great attention to detail.I never felt like I was being rushed through, and I walked out feeling confident with my updated look.Absolutely will be coming back - thanks to the whole team for your fantastic hospitality and service :)read more

Such a pleasant experience!!! Blake made sure to ask me loads of questions, and made sure to get me exactly what I... wanted. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Unfortunately I had just been to get my hair done and was disappointed with the outcome, so I went to Blake to see if he could fix it and he did one hundred percent. It was exactly what I wanted and exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend Blake and his coworkers at Marrickville to anyone looking to get their hair cut and coloured!! They all made me feel comfortable and welcome!! He was extremely lovely and answered all questions I had, as well as providing me with products to upkeep not only the the colour in my hair but the health of my hair. I couldn’t recommend Mr Burrows enough.When it comes to hair color ( and basically everything involving hair and... skin) I’m extremely picky and cautious and always do my online research for weeks, compare reviews from every single site and article and even walk past the salon to check the vibe before booking. Specially coming from Europe and doing my hair for the first time in Australia.Mr Burrows was ranked within the top 5 Sydney salons everywhere I searched.Now I understand why.From the moment you arrive, you’re immediately seated and given a full menu of drinks and snacks to pick from, an absolute treat after a long day at the office. With a wine in hand and a yummy cheese board, I was feeling the luckiest in Lily’s hands.Lily listened to my over the top requests and patiently looked at the pics from my “inspiration” folder eventhough she knew exactly what I wanted off the first 4 words. She NAILED IT. In both the color and the cut, With an amazing treat and service in between. My hair has never felt this healthy and the color is an incredibly natural blonde ( and I’m brunette).Definitely coming back for you Lily! I booked here after reading that this was the best salon in Sydney. I had the absolute pleasure of Luke looking after... me - he has over a decade of experience and is the best hairdresser I’ve ever met. So patient and professional, I trusted his skill after 2 minutes of speaking with him. You are in amazing hands if you go here, but especially if you book with Luke! It’s not easy to find a good cutter, especially for short, fine hair with kinks and cowlicks. I sometimes can’t control... my hair just one week after a cut. Well on my first visit to this salon, hoping to get a short, fashionable, contemporary cut, Luke cut my hair and WOW. what a precision cutter. By far the best cutter I have ever had in my life. Now 3 weeks later I am still rocking this cut and expect to for another 3 or 4 weeks. Thank you so much Luke - you’re a genius.read more

I went to Mr Burrows Newtown with very very poorly self bleached hair and a hope of fixing it without it all breaking... off. I saw Luke who was so amazing, against all odds I left with beautifully (evenly) bleached blonde hair without loosing all my length! So stoked with the personal service i received, they really care about their work and want to make sure it is done right, even if it takes longer than expected.read more

I had the best experience at Mr. Burrows in Newtown. I got the exact haircut I wanted. I had Mark (I think so sorry I'm... awful at remembering names but they were lovely and British).The colour was amazing and the cut was perfect. They have complimentary drinks and cheese boards which was such a nice touch. The team were so friendly and efficient. I never had to wait around between steps and the whole experience was excellent. had my first visit at this hairdresser which is situated about 6 minutes walk away from Newtown train station.the... shop has good selection of music played and a unique selection of skilled hair dressers. hair cut starts from 60 - 140 dollars.they also offer other services like balayage to name a few..I would say the staff are very professional and highly skilled. Mr Burrows is fabulous. Not only do they give you wine AND cheese, they do wonders for your hair both on the colour... front and the cut front. On top of this, they are always so warm and welcoming and really look after you. I walk out looking like a better version of myself. I have been going here for over 3 years and never have I had a bad experience. Thanks to Vini and Rob especially. Would highly recommend them to anyone.read more

Have been getting my hair cut at Mr Burrows since I moved to Sydney. Love this place, I wouldn’t go anywhere else, the... hairdressers are amazing. Blake cuts my hair and he does a fantastic job and has great conversation. I look forward to my visits. Plus the coffee, wine and cheese plate is a big bonus! One of the best hair salon experiences I’ve ever had. Luke was warm, welcoming, listened to all my ideas, then helped... me make great decisions with my colouring.I was absolutely rapt with the end result and get complimented all the time. The price was exceptionally good value.Enjoyed my cheese board and beverages. Always felt that I was a valued client with lively conversation and genuine laughs with Luke and the other staff. A 100% positive experience and outcome.Its a 90 minute drive from my home but I won’t be going anywhere else than Mr Burrows Hair Newton in the future. Thanks Luke xxread more

Unfortunately, for my plan going forwards, there are no payment options are available like zip or Afterpay ( last time I checked) which makes it hard. Oh well.read more

Every time I leave this place I feel like a million bucks! I love every part of the experience; apart from getting the... best hair colouring and styling I've ever received, the staff are lovely and talented, I get pampered with hot drinks cheese boards & wine and the salon is beautiful and spacious. The atmosphere and services are always a high standard at this salon externally and internally. I have previously been... with both Nikki and Rob on different dates (as I’m very open to my booking and put trust into anyone who takes me on as a client) whether it was for a cut or colour as I get shocking regrowth and very dry ends always leaving them to be creative with the styling. Everyone here is very accomodating to your needs as a client both food, beverage and hair-wise. The end of service I always leave feeling more confident (feeling myself and my hair) and booked in for my next appointment. I immensely recommend the stylists who work here as they cater to a broad range of people and will do your hair the justice it deserves.read more
