Our guests are our brand, and for that reason our guests are at the centre of everything we do.
From the moment a guest arrives they will feel the Mr Burrows experience, with greetings flying all over the salon, like one of the family has just arrived, our guests are our family.
Our guests are very diverse which gives you the opportunity to test your skills, creating bespoke shapes, colour and styles every day. A relationship between the salon and guests, and you and your guest, is very important to us, this allows us to push our clients’ boundaries while respecting their limits.
Newtown – a short walk from Newtown Station, the Newtown salon is a place of creativity inspired by the raw bricks, timber floors, and over a hundred years of history oozing out of the walls. With 16 chairs spread over two levels, the space is fun, lively, yet intimate, a space you and your clients will love.
Marrickville – in the heart of Marrickville close to Marrickville and Sydenham stations, our new little baby, only 12 months old. The Marrickville salon is flooded with light, combining wood and polished concrete floors, the 12 chairs surround an old claw foot bath, just for a bit of random fun.
Products and Partnerships
At Mr Burrows we are stockists of Evo, Moroccan Oil, O&M and GHD. The colour range we use is Evo Hueverse. Mr Burrows is a flagship store for Evo Hueverse, meaning we get to see and use the new products first, and we work with the creators to develop and evolve the range. In addition, our team is more connected to training and development opportunities with Evo, Hueverse and Staino through the flagship arrangement.

Training is a big focus at Mr Burrows. We want to make sure you are exposed to new techniques, different ways of doing things, and mostly we want to make sure that you are stimulated and maintain that passion for hair.
We train in a number of ways:
Train the team – For our less experienced team members we run in-salon training on a weekly or fortnightly basis by our creative directors.
Online – the new way! For those quick sessions or to brush up on some product knowledge.
The outsider – Over the year we have a number of external trainers come to us. These trainers are industry best and leaders in the hair world.

We craft individual training plans to help guide your career in the direction you choose.
Last but definitely not least, it’s really important to us at Mr Burrows to have fun. We want you to enjoy every day that you are with us.
To make sure it’s not all about business, we plan regular events for the team. End of months drinks, apprentice bonding sessions, senior appreciation days, a little hole moly session, and every year we jump on a yacht and spend a whole day out on Sydney harbour.

Stylist, Senior Stylist or Principal Stylist
We are currently looking for stylists, senior stylists or a principal stylist to join our team.
You must have at least 12 months post-apprenticeship experience on the floor.
You should be highly motivated, have a passion for hair, be a team player and have the willingness to keep training and undertake education. Prior to hitting the floor at Mr Burrows you will undertake a week of intensive training and assessment. This week is paid and designed to help map out your ongoing training program and to ensure you feel comfortable in the salon.
You will be supported by the Mr Burrows Family and rewarded with a very competitive salary and commissions. We have positions available in both our Newtown and Marrickville locations, with options of part time or full time. Full time positions generally work a 4 day week.
2nd Year Apprentice
We are looking for a second year apprentice to join us on our luxury journey.
You must have a drive and passion for hairdressing, be self-motivated, have initiative and a willingness to learn.
We have high standards delivered through high end training that will help you soar to new heights. It is our aim to support you to become a very successful hairdresser.
